Helping Hand Coalition Report

Rachela & Stral Segol,
Age: 72 & 77, City: Ramat Gan

War History: During the war they were both in the Transislia labor camp, in Romania.

Recent Status: They came to Israel in 1963. They live alone in their apartment; the apartment belongs to them. It’s a two-floor apartment. They have a son (50 years old) and a daughter (44 years old). They also have grandchildren. They do not ask their children for help because they have families of their own as well as financial difficulties. Together they receive 2,500 from Bitauch Leumi and 2,500 from funds from Germany per month. This money is almost not enough for electricity and other basic essentials that are needed by them.

Personal Comments: They say that they’re barely paying all of the bills at the end of each month. Their apartment in considerably big (two floors). Suggest minimal aid for medicine.

Urgent Need: Money- for medicine. They both went through numerous operations including heart operations and now need some serious medication.
