Helping Hand Coalition Report

Chaim,  Age: 86 City: Haifa

Chaim lives alone on the top floor of his building in an apartment that belongs to him. Unable to go down stairs because of his physical disabilities, he has food sent to his apartment. Chaim has 3 sons who live considerably close, but do not speak to him. He needs a nurse to help him - take him on walks, clean the house etc. because he cannot do it by himself but he is unable to afford one.

Chaim was born in Ukraine and during the war he was in Tresnikia. In 1941 he was taken from his hometown. He made his way to Israel after the war, however, once at the border the British had sent him away to a camp in Cyprus for 14 months then was eventually released and came to Israel. As soon as he stepped foot in the land of Israel, he was sent to the army. He joined other Jewish military organizations until the unification of the IDF.

Urgent Needs: Chaim needs funding so that he can pay for a nurse to aid him in his physical disabilities.
